Man’s Relationship with the Earth
The Earth was created perfect and good, originally, and the Garden of Eden was the perfect, most wonderful place to put man once he was created. It was made especially for Adam and Eve and it was beautiful, colorful, breath taking and full of magnificence and splendor. There were no storms, the weather was perfect. The temperature was perfect. There were no thorns or thistles, no mosquitos, or if there were they didn’t bite mankind then!
Before Adam and Eve sinned and disobeyed God by eating the only fruit He told them not to eat there were no weeds, no biting bugs, animals didn’t fight or try to kill or eat each other. It was all perfect, perfect harmony, perfect beauty, perfect peace and joy and there was no death in either man or beast.
Sin, disobedience changed everything! The ground was cursed, thistles & thorns, biting bugs, disease, sickness, bad weather, storms, plagues, pestilence became the new normal and animals began to eat each other and be a threat to mankind.
Once the Earth was cursed man begins to die, it was dog eat dog, & survival of the fittest. Man had to begin to not just manage and tend the perfect environment created for him specifically, but by the sweat of the brow he had to begin to eke out an existence in a hostile environment. Earth wouldn’t any longer easily cooperate and things and people began to kill each other, and death became a part of life.
Woman was no longer a perfect mate for man, but would begin to constantly strive and seek to be in charge, and for equality, and even dominance over men, as part of the curse because of sin. Eve sinned first and her punishment was different from Adam and men.
Satan was then allowed to be the god of this fallen world small “g.” Satan would steal, kill, and destroy what God made and was good, and perfect, and nothing was ever perfect and unflawed again, in this world, as a result of original sin in the Garden
The Earth and all the plants and animals were all created for a purpose, and we still see joy and beauty, love, friendship, enjoyment of animals, plants, seas, mountains, streams, clouds, sunsets, the night sky, the sunrise and everything we find wonderful and amazing such as art, music, dance, etc., but nothing is like what it was when it was made perfect–and now it’s all flawed and cursed by Adam’s sin. The beauty and everything good we see, taste, touch, smell, and feel is now a mere shadow, a small glimmer of what it was all like when God made it before sin and the curse entered the world.
Everything now falls apart and tends toward disorder, things rust, get dirty, rot, wear out, and die now. Nothing is nearly as pretty and sweet as it was created originally. Things just don’t work like they should, or could, or did, as God made it all to be before Adam sinned. Man and all creation were in perfect harmony. All the plants and animals would have lived forever and there would have been no suffering, sickness or death.
Now nothing is perfect! Nothing lasts. Nothing is still as it was made or intended to be and function or as it was made to. it is all messed up, cursed because of sin.
Mankind started to kill each other right away, & Adam and Eve’s sons suffered from the curse right away! Cain killed Abel. Mankind became so evil, corrupt, and violent and that the thoughts and intents of their hearts was only evil continually. That is all but 8 people were like this–Noah, his wife and their three sons and their wives were not so, All the rest of mankind were so bad that God told Noah to make a huge boat, or ark, big enough to hold two of every kind of land animal and bird, a male and female of each kind of unclean animals and 7 pairs of clean animals, living quarters for them and the animals and enough food to last over a year on the boat.
God destroyed all land animals and mankind except for those saved on the ark with Noah by a worldwide flood.
This Earth will be destroyed a second time by fervent heat, completely destroyed, and a new heaven (space) and new earth without sin and a curse or any corruption will once again replace this present one that is dying.
Man got so awful, cruel, mean, disgusting, corrupt & totally sinful, and rebelled against God so bad for so long that Gad told Noah He would totally destroy all mankind and cover the Earth with water. Noah preached repentance for 120 years as he built a huge ocean going vessel far from any body of water big enough to float it, but not one soul listened or believed and they all perished.
God preserved the animals in the ark by helping Noah collect them, and then God shut the door and shut them all in,and the rain started. It had never rained before, but it poured rain for forty days and forty nights and also the fountains of the deep broke up.
Cataclysm, earthquakes, and flood waters covered the whole Earth & destroyed all of evil mankind except for the 8 souls on the boat.
God wanted man to spread out and cover the whole Earth, but man always wanted to group together in cities and not spread out and occupy the whole Earth as God intended and commanded them to do. Nimrod was an evil man after the flood who tried to build the Tower of Babel to keep mankind gathered together in one place, but God cursed man with different languages & forced them to find those they could communicate with and spread out as God intended!
God always wanted small separate groups of people spread out far and wide covering the whole Earth but mankind always tried to bunch together, stay in one place and not spread out.
Man has figured out once again how to cross communicate and get away from local families, tribes and nations, and now global economies and man wants to once again have one world order, one currency, one big government & one global leader. Gods wrath against sin and rebellion brought a flood the first time. Next time it will be world war and only the strong will survive and evil leaders will attempt to take over to rule the whole world as one.
God sent a rainbow after rain and water destroyed the world and all of mankind and all the animals except those on the ark with Noah to signify that He would never destroy Earth again by water.
Next time God pours out His divine wrath on Earth and mankind, once He has removed all believers from the Earth, God will once again pour out His absolute wrath on an unbelieving world who want nothing to do with Him. There will be a final 7 years of The Great Tribulation period, and there will be 7 seal judgements, 7 trumpet judgements and 7 bowl judgements, all filled with God’s wrath poured out against rebellious, sinful, mankind who want nothing nothing to do with God.
The end of all things will be that God will completely destroy the heavens and the Earth as we know it now and will make new ones–back like it was before sin came into the world and the curse and forever and ever there will be no more sin & no more curse. The Earth, plants and animals all originally created to please man for mankind to enjoy will be recraated perfect and whole as it was originally made before sin and the curse.
No thorns, no thistles, no weeds, no biting bugs, no animals killing each other, no disease, no tornadoes, no tropical storms, no freezing temperatures, no burning heat, no famines, no sickness, no mold and nothing dirty, nasty, corrupt, disorganized or disgusting will exist ever again.
Man didn’t eat meat until after the flood and everything was in total harmony. We still have beauty and wonderful animals and plants here and now, but in this fallen cursed world it is only a shadow of what it was, and what it was meant to be, and will be again new heavens and new earth!
The Earth is temporary and dying as it is now and is soon coming to its final conclusion and end, and will be replaced by a new one that is restored to original before sin corrupted it.
So the Earth and all plants, animals, and the entire ecosystem were created for man to enjoy and live in harmony and peace, and to be able to enjoy the original full beauty and order, with no bad weather, no plagues, no famines, no diseases, no sickness and no death ever again.
Sin ruined it all and this his present Earth is a deformed, plagued, cursed, temporary shadow of what it was and is soon to be destroyed completely and will be replaced. It will all melt with fervent heat and there will be a new heaven and new Earth forever and ever.
Genesis 1: 26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
So from the beginning God made man to have dominion/rule/power/command over the whole creation—plants, trees, fish, birds, cattle, dogs etc. They were all created to serve Adam and Eve and the human race and mankind is to take rule, power, dominion, over creation and “subdue” it–take care of it, command it & use it for his enjoyment and pleasure.
Modern man has gotten the idea that man is the enemy of the creation and that mankind is subservient to Earth, and not the other way around, but that is not how it was meant to be.
The Earth was made for man not the other way around.
